Image taken in the lost village on the north island of New Zealand. Taken with a Rollieflex SL66 and the 50 mm lens.
Film used was Panatomic-X. Negative was scanned and the DNG processed in Photoshop.

Nice shot LarryJ. I used to love PanX in my Mamiya RB67.

A nice place. The photo could be beautiful if not a technical defect. Why the author put on display a photo with “holes” and obvious posterization remains a mystery to me.

I like the subject and composition…but the water is very blown out in the highlights. Is that on the negative as well. P32 is a bit unforgiving in high contrast scenes.

I think it’s a very nice photo, but sadly, I have to agree that the blown highlights detract from it. You don’t mention anything about the scan - professional or home - but, depending on where the issue lies, it might be worth a rescan.

For what it’s worth (nothing!) I used to use Ilford Pan F in either a Mamiya C330 or a Bronica EC with Nikon lenses. I scan those negs on an Epson flat bed scanner and am generally happy with the results.

Hello everyone I hear your comments and the problem was I was shooting in a dark cave and the only light was on the water at the back. The meter reading on the water at the back came out at 8 second at F:11. I shot one at the exposure at 8 seconds and a second at 16 sec at f:11 to compensate for the reciprocity effects in the film. The first exposure lost all detail in the ferns on the left and still washed out the water. I chose the second exposure because of the better detail in the ferns. The prints from the scans duplicated the prints made in the darkroom. I think the image is catchy even with it's flaws.
