Fuji Rumors are now reporting that the next X summit will be in May - presumably replacing the one originally scheduled (and announced) for April.

XE5? X-Pro4? Or just the XS20 which was earlier rumoured to be the next body?

Curious about the XF 8/3.5 :)

Btw good to see you here.

You too! Yes, should be an interesting lens, and a little overdue. I’m also hopeful that the long rumoured new phone app might make an appearance… it can’t be any worse than Cam Remote, surely.

It would be very disappointing if they make a whole “summit” to present one lens.

    Or X-T40 ?

X-Pro 4 is my assumption. I'm intrigued as to whether they would keep it at 26Mp and use the faster sensor - or go down the 40Mp route. And also whether they would incorporate IBIS. (Given that the X-S10 and X-T5 seem to incorporate IBIS without any apparent size penalty then I can't see why the X-Pro 4 wouldn't get it).

Haha yes of course, but that's the one thing I am waiting for. No plans to replace my X-T4 currently. Very happy with it.

    Cheers,
    Martin

I think that is what will happen, plus the classic statements: "we are closely watching the market needs", "we know many people use their cellphones to take pictures..." and stuff like that without saying anything concrete 😂

If the X-Pro4 gets IBIS, which is likely, it’s also going to get the new battery which I believe means the body will be thicker. A thicker body would allow for HVF improvements.

IBIS doesn't in itself require the larger battery - the X-S10 and X-H1 both use the smaller battery.

(That said the X-T4 and X-T5 seem at add about 6mm thickness over the X-T3 - with IBIS and the larger battery).

I'd prefer Fuji stayed with the smaller battery in the X-Pro 4 if it meant the thickness/depth wasn't increased.

XE5, no heavier or larger than the XE4, with IBIS and WR would be fine for me!

    I second that.

Looks like you’re definitely getting your lens, Fuji Rumours has leaked pics of it today, so we can pretty much lock that in for the May summit (if not sooner).

At this point, I would expect the formal announcement of the XF 8/3.5.
As for camera bodies, I'd expect X-Pro 4 and X-S20 (and maybe X100VI) before we'll see any releases in the X-Tx0 and X-E line.

I’m going to go conservative and expect the XF8/3.5 and XS20 (both pretty much confirmed by the rumour mill at this point).

I’d like to believe they’ll announce their rumoured new app as well to replace cam remote; I can even believe getting that right is behind the delay to what was meant to be the April summit. They must know that the app has to get it right this time.

I don’t expect an XE5 or X-Pro4, just because (a) I think we’d have heard about those already if they were coming so soon, and (b) I think again that there’s a lot riding on them getting those products right. Neither is a case of them just putting the new sensor in the old body, whichever side of the screen debate you’re on with the X-Pro3 for example, it needs to be better engineered this time. I think the X-Pro4 will be sometime later this year, perhaps in the Autumn, and the XE5 after that.

Fuji getting the app "right", I'll believe it when I see it.
