Here are a couple night airshow pics from Sun 'n Fun. If you like airshows, I would highly recommend seeing a twilight/night show. The finale of this show had 2 planes (Ghost Writer & Redline) flying aerobatics with onboard pyro while fireworks are were going off.

Nice captures! It's hard getting shots like that at night.

Thanks, Bob! It is certainly a bit of a challenge, and I throw away a lot of them. However, I ended up keeping more than I thought I would. There are plenty of times when I think I want a camera with a bigger sensor, then I think about the weight and gear that goes with it and I am again happy with my FZ2500.

Very nice! You did great under very challenging conditions. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, ValentinG! The FZ2500 performs as well as I can ask, given the lighting. Obviously, a bigger sensor would help. I've wondered how much better a m4/3 camera would be at this. I don't want to carry a full frame camera and matching lenses.

You don't see that every day - or night! Interesting and challenging I'm sure!

I don't think the m43 will give you much more than you are already getting. I have the 16MP Panasonic G7 and the high ISO output is definitely not as good as the one from my APSC Sony DSLR. I think stepping to APSC like Sony A6600 or 6400 will give you the best bang for the buck. There are lots of E mount lenses and the 1.5 crop will help you with getting closer. A 300mm lens will give you the range of FZ2500 but with much better autofocus and better image quality overall at all ISOs. Even if the lens is F5.6 or F6.3 at full zoom. A 70-300 lens might be a good fit with not much more bulk. If you want to spend any money of course. It becomes a slippery slope :-). Thanks for the great photos again!

Thanks for that info. I was suspecting that APSC would probably be a better choice.I am generally happy with the results I get with the FZ2500, so the upgrade thinking is pretty much just thinking.

Thanks, Jerry! It was a great time. We've been attending since 2017, and I'm hoping that continues in the future. One of these years, I plan to get to Oshkosh.
