Nice panning shot.

This panning shot has one good point: the definition of the cyclist (only those with a steady hand can achieve this).
It has two not-so-good points: The background is very distracting and the cyclist looks like he's leaving the scene because he's moving from right to left and close to the edge of the frame.
The movement from right to left gives us the feeling of leaving rather than arriving, because we start writing and reading from left to right.

Great job panning! I like how it blurred the background.

I dont think the author had much choice about the background, and if the cyclist were more to the right he would obscure other important elements of the scene.

I am not 100% comfortable with the photo, but I dont know why, I dont think it has anything to do with European writing/reading going from L to R: for instance, I can also read Hebrew without discomfort!

Hi guys, thank you for watching an for your comments.
I wanted some kind of environmental portrait, i wanted the cyclist crossing trough the scenery. I understand that in this kind of images, the usual thing is for the character to move from left to right (as Manuel said) and to occupy the first third, "entering" the scene (maybe is this what makes David not 100% confortable?). In this image I couldn't choose the direction of the cyclist, and the truth is that, strangely, I tend to like the characters that leave the scene...
Let's see what you think of these two, taken at the same spot and, in some ways, more conventional.

Your idea is interesting, panning with little blur so that we can perceive the atmosphere of the place.
In the second photo, my gaze tends to leave the main subject (the man on the scooter) and look for something at the end of the street, I don't know if it's because it acts as a vanishing point or because the character is a bit boring.
The third is the most pleasant to look at (perhaps because it has no vanishing point).
