Not a lot of love going on here for Affinity……

Is it only me who’s use it this?

I’m finding that the V2 of the software is much better re raw conversion than V1 and has become my go to app on the iPad for image editing, given that most of what I take stay as JPEG’s, with only specific shoots being raw based and edited as such.

I’m finding that I’m using my laptop less and less nowadays for almost everything including image and video editing, and on the iPad, the Affinity suite is an amazingly powerful suite of products.

I find that I can get to the same end state on my iPad (image edited and saved as 16bit tiff ready for final printing) as I did with my MBP with C1 and DXO. Not really touched those for a while now.

I'm using it pretty exclusively Andy. I know others don't care for its raw conversion but it works fine for me. If I'm doing something where I need to preserve exif, I use it otherwise I might still use PSP v5.

I don't think my 10 year old machine is beefy enough to support any of the newer AI-noise/sharpening products.

I have Affinity but, to be honest, I use GIMP more often because it supports WebP and HEIC/HEIF.

What I like best about Affinity Photo is the Refine selection brush, which really helped here. This is Figueroa Mtn, shared on Twitter without attribution. The original had JPEG blocking in the blue sky along trees on the horizon, due to low-quality encoding. Also a big dark blue dot in the middle. Affinity was able to blur the sky without bleeding blue into the tree pixels. Is there a way to run Topaz AI programs as plug-ins? If possible it would be really great.

I use it on both Mac and iPad…but it’s not first on my list. I prefer applications that read/write directly to my Photo.Library
