I got my 20D in 2004. Here's one from the Caves of Lascaux. It was a great little camera, even with the standard lens.

Me too ... a D50. The AA filter on the sensor was too soft for my taste so I switched to a Sigma SD9 for AA-free sharpness.

It wasn't the fastest camera 😇, but the results were nice to look at.

Your comments are as always welcome. 😉
I remember this model very well, it was just before the release of Kodak's EasyShare in 2001.
In 2000 I bought the little Kodak DC3200 1.2 MP $100 CAD for my daughter who was 7 at the time.
A lot has changed since then! ;)
For those interested in more recent history, the history of digital photography.
And its phenomenal growth from 1991 to the present day.
I have here the Agfa Actioncam (1995) The first and only DSLR or Agfa got involved
30 years ago, a partnership between Minolta and Agfa gave us a strange camera.
Or rather two, the Minolta RD-175 and the Agfa Actioncam
The camera that served as a basis was the Dynax 500si
Big sensors used to cost a fortune to produce
Look at the astronomical price of Kodak DCS cameras!
Instead, they used three small CCD sensors of 380,000 pixels each (768x394) with a prism that generates three light beams.
Which gives after interpolation a final resolution of 1.75 million pixels (1528x1146)

With a single sensitivity of ISO 800

Foveon tried that for a while before changing to the X3F three-layer sensor (you probably know that, Marc).

I always find it interesting to discover the ancestors of our current cameras!
And to appreciate the spectacular evolution achieved in recent years
And you?
Alan, The Nikon D800 and D800E were watershed cameras for Nikon. They re-established Nikon's credibility in the professional digital camera world. They were (and still are!) extremely dependable DSLRs which produced the first "gigantic" digital files at 36 MP. My D800E performs every bit as well today as the day I got it 13 years ago.
The D800E (with no anti-aliasing filter, er . . . sorry, an imaging path which "nullified" the anti-aliasing filter) and its Sony sensor were state of the art DSLRs when released in 2012 and never really gave up that title until they evolved into the D810 and then the D850 at 45MP.
The D850 has been called the most capable DSLR ever made.
Rich
I've just ordered a Sigma SD10 3.4 MP raw-only camera, Marc.
It wasn't the D800 then - I tried something out around 2008 or 2009.
