I got my 20D in 2004. Here's one from the Caves of Lascaux. It was a great little camera, even with the standard lens.

I've only ever tried one Nikon and wasn't overly impressed - but that was probably 15 years ago and I can't remember what it was (D800 vaguely rings a bell). It was severely front focussing and there didn't seem to be a way of fixing it.

Me too ... a D50. The AA filter on the sensor was too soft for my taste so I switched to a Sigma SD9 for AA-free sharpness.

The revolutionary announcement of the year 2000

    Who remembers?
This new camera really made me want to get it! Despite its high price.
It's been 25 years already that Olympus announced the release of the magnificent E-10

It wasn't the fastest camera 😇, but the results were nice to look at.

I remember this model very well, it was just before the release of Kodak's EasyShare in 2001.
In 2000 I bought the little Kodak DC3200 1.2 MP $100 CAD for my daughter who was 7 at the time.
A lot has changed since then! ;)

For those interested in more recent history, the history of digital photography.
And its phenomenal growth from 1991 to the present day.

I have here the Agfa Actioncam (1995) The first and only DSLR or Agfa got involved

    The twin brothers.jpg

30 years ago, a partnership between Minolta and Agfa gave us a strange camera.
Or rather two, the Minolta RD-175 and the Agfa Actioncam

The camera that served as a basis was the Dynax 500si

Big sensors used to cost a fortune to produce
Look at the astronomical price of Kodak DCS cameras!
Instead, they used three small CCD sensors of 380,000 pixels each (768x394) with a prism that generates three light beams.
Which gives after interpolation a final resolution of 1.75 million pixels (1528x1146)

    Agfa Action Camera (1995)
    Minolta RD-175 (1995)
    1.75 MP sensor (1528 x 1146)
with a multiplication factor of 2
    Price: $9,500 US
With a single sensitivity of ISO 800

Here I have grouped together the comparisons made with these two twin brothers.

Foveon tried that for a while before changing to the X3F three-layer sensor (you probably know that, Marc).
