Actually it seems OK in the gallery view, Paul ... and looks like my bench in the woods ... I'll just open the thermos as I sit here and have some morning coffee. ... want some? .....
WhyNot
The thread view is mush Paul, but if I click on the image in thread view and get the screen size view (you could also click on it and download the file and see it unadulterated) it is quite lovely as you have worked your 'lighting magic' well.
Andrew
Just having my coffee now WN and enjoying the sunshine 🙂
Thanks Andrew have u though anymore about starting a new weekly thread on DPR I drop in now and again Craig’s keeping it alive 👍
I don't read HTML well but it looks like the normal view restricts the height to 500px whereas the gallery view can be full size ...
Whynot
I do not visit DPR regularly Paul, well not daily in any case. I am not sure about starting a thread there. It is a double edge sword. If I start one there participation here will likely tank. I like the DPR way better because of the way it is set up!!! Craig is on a mission! If I knew DPR was going to continue I would go back there. On occassion we get drop ins here because of the 'highlighting' done of recent posts on the home screen. They don't tend to stay though and the traffic here is slowing to a halt, but that may just my feeling.
I will ruminate on it for a bit and perhaps just open a new thread there and see what happens!
Andrew
Not sure that would be a good move at this time .. We still don't know where DPR is going I look at IR and it seems to be changing hands rather quickly . I subscribe to Outdoor Photographer but not sure where that subscription is as they apparently fired the staff at the last stop ... DPR is still in Limbo as far as I'm concerned but again I do stop by regularly as Dave and Paul have joined Craig and Cloudforest seems to have returned to that site ... I will wait and see and as you know I'm not unhappy here where I think the management is going that extra mile for us ....
WhyNot
It’s hard to know what to do Andrew hopefully the Romours are true and the site will stay open then we see and know for sure 🤔Paul
I love it, mushy or not!
About DPR, I go there and read now and then. But as Andrew I too have double feelings. I miss it very much, but I don't think it can ever be the same again, no matter what happens. I notice I don't want to post there. It's like a Damocles sword is hanging over my neck and I don't think it will ever go away. Trust in continuity - I have none. And that sort of destroys it for me. DPR had always been there and would always be there, that was the feeling before. Now? Who knows? Who cares? Who keeps us informed? The answer to the last question certainly is no one. But I fear it's the same answer to the first two.
I go straight to gallery view with all, Paul. This picture looks just fine that way. I like the light in this one. Rich
Might I ask why this was not posted on Pentax forum but here on M43 forum?
Does this sample anything to do with M43 gear?
It is a nice image, good color and can express the mood well.
It may be allowed but why? There are posts from Fuji users as well & the purpose of this specific forum is in danger of being lost unless there is a specific reason for such posts.
Keith, No one asked your opinion. If you do not like it, do not participate. This is a community of people from the Olympus DSLR forum of DPReview. We have been together for years. Most of us have both m4/3 cameras and other brands. We choose to hangout together. This subforum is about images and community discussion. New comers are welcome but naysayers are not.
Post some images and take part or please leave!
Andrew
Wow the forum police are about again I could post in the pentax or canon forum but I don’t. I post here among friends as I have been doing for about 15years or more take Andrew’s advice above thanks 👍
This is a friendly, inclusive community of long standing that is even open to non-photographers like me who just enjoy the lovely images. Am I to be evicted because I don't have a M43 camera??
Lynne
This isn't the only image thread that is open for all brands. Do you complain about the other threads too?
Oh man. This is worse than the browser wars back in the day. What are you afraid of? To discover that cameras from other brands also can produce images? That they may even be better? That there are good photographers that chose another brand than you? It's about images, not about who has the coolest camera.
OK. I'll leave. If I cannot express an opinion I see no point in staying.😔
Keith, you still do not get it! Either accept the thread for what it was created for or do not. We are not interested in contrary opinions to its stated purpose or function. If you want to post images and comments or discussion in general that does not alienate current members you are most welcome to stay. This not a place of exclusively m/3 users and will remain that way.
Andrew
Sorry you wandered into an ongoing conversation and tried to change the subject!!! Start the thread if you want to express an opinion about the site ... but the answers will be the same .... Post some pictures and let's see who you are ....
WhyNot
Come on! Of course you can express your opinion. But you must accept that we don't share it. It also could be considered rude that a newcomer introduce himself by listing what's wrong with the place and how it should be run, so you can't really expect the replies to be cordial.
