Not the E-10?

Olympus E-10 (2000) and E-20 (2001) DSLRs were earlier than the E-1 (2003).
However, the E-1 was the first model using a 4/3" sensor.
Both earlier models used 2/3" sensors.

And they weren't real DSLRs, the lens wasn't interchangeable.

Real Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras they are.

No idea why you throw ILC (Interchangable Lens Camera) into the mix.

This is one of the reasons ( among other things) for which I carry out comparisons through the history of digital technology.
It allows and forces me to use the cameras cyclically. 😎

I am currently making my 290 comparisons with the cameras in my collection. 🤡

The problem with me is that if a company like Nikon, Canon, or Fujifilm provided me with one of these cameras, I would never return it! 😂

Great camera.
I still use mine from time to time. AF not great by modern standards and gets noisy at fairly low iso but the best ergonomics of any camera I've handled and great jpeg rendering. Cool shutter sound too.

For me also, the noise of the shutter is important, it adds an additional pleasure. 😁

They used to be very common on E-Bay, but yeah, I've noticed that you don't see them anymore and when you do the prices are surprising.

Cool comparison. The smaller sensor size of the E20 has more depth of field. I played with either an E10 or 20, don't remember which. Bought a used E1 years later. I need to dig it out and shoot it.

The E10 was my first DSLR. Eventually sold it to a friend who dropped it and turned it into a ILC by smashing the lens off. It was a beautiful camera but suffered from terrible battery life. The accessory LiPo battery cost as much as the camera. I ended up carving a battery grip from wood to hold a model car nicad pack connected via the battery holder. A bit of a bodge but it did work.
