I usually shoot with my OM-1 film....but I was given a Spot Meter version OM2sp. I understand exposure, or at least I thought I did:-) .... With this OMsp version when I shoot in manual mode, my only option is spot meter. I understand that.
But, my point of 'not understanding' comes with the exposure compensation dial. The exposure dial is used to under or over expose so if snow is around, or a dark room...Okay, I understand that.
But when I take a reading using spot metering of a fairly gray area, (against a bright sky) and set my aperture and speed for that spot metering....when I elect to + - exposure comp by 1 or 2 stops to adjust for the bright sky, will I have to re-adjust the aperture and speed to meet what I view in the viewfinder to make it appear perfectly exposed, or....do I simply elect + - by 1 or 2 stops to adjust for bright sky and then simply take the shot? Thanks....jim
