I attended a seminar on the new 2024 edition of On1 Phoot Raw and it looks really good. I've purchased the 2023 edition which gives me a free update to 2024 when it is released.
Does anyone else use that in their workflow?

I followed the development of PR 2023 for quite a while before it was released. Shared teaser videos on DPR...
When it actually came out, it was quite a dissappointment. I never purchased it
Now, I don't really have much time to spend with photos at the computer, and I've been using free open-source software.
With the advertisments about speed, I might just use my free trial when it does come out, though. -
So far (about 2 hours of playing), it has some nice features plus the odd bug or two. And, you are right, it's not fast!

I've got a nice new computer (AMD 9-7900X CPU, 64Gb of DDR5 memory and Nvidia 4070Ti card) and ON1 flies very nicely now 😁😁
Still finding nice things with it - like replacing all the sky with something more dramatic.

That's nice! A little better than my two year old computer. Looks good for using two or five years.
But! What is this? Is it how ON1 serves you?

Assuming that ON1 (whatever that is) uses masking, it's a poor mask that excludes the tree background!
In the GIMP, I often use the Threshold function while making a mask for that kind of stuff, et voila:

I know - it's not that good. I also spotted it. I am hoping the new 2024 version will do it much better.
I will have a look at GIMP and see how that does. Never tried it, so the learning curve could be interesting.

I thought about what you said about threshhold and went back into ON1 and adjusted the fade edge. Came up with this:

I agree. It looks good now.👍
This one is more challenging! There's a mismatch with the sky and the sky reflected from the water. You can correct it, I think.
