I want to make it easier for me to change the lenses if something interesting happens.
I have the AF-P 70-300 5.6E with the FTZ always plugged on.
It's laying horizontally inside the small bag, my Z30 with the Z 18-140 over it.
The Sigma 150-600C is in a separate JJC TubeBag
From the closed bag having the camera ready to shoot takes usually less than 6 secs, if the zip comply
When I want to switch to the 300:
- 1) I pull it from the bottom of the bag, unplug the 140, switch the back cover, and plug the 300 lens.
Out the front cap and ready to shoot, it takes around 16-20 seconds or less.
When I want to switch to the 600:
-
2) I switch passing by the 300
I do 1) then unplug the 300 from TFZ, and put it back in the bags.
Unzip the Big Bag, switch the back cover, and plug the 600 lens.
Ready to shoot, it takes 46-105 seconds, depending on the bag Zips -
3) I switch the FTZ
The 300 from the bottom goes vertically, !!unplug the FTZ, and unplug the 140!!,
switch the back cover, and plug the FTZ.
Unzip the Big Bag, the back cover go to the 300, and plug the 600 lens.
Ready to shoot, it takes 36-85 seconds, depending on the bag's Zips, and two lenses juggling.
All these processes are quite error-prone and not easy to do it fast.
Not so different if I'm seated preparing slowly to put it on the tripod.
Even being careful and with too much hand handling, dropping a lens becomes a real possibility
I can buy:
an AF body and leave it on the 600 > 7500 = 8/900€ used OR a FTZ2 new 230€ / FTZ1 used 190€ ( missed a 90€ FTZ1 ) OR a Viltroz N-TZ 110€
I was on the idea to get a second body in the range of 250-300€
What stopped me is the cost of my choice D7500, and an unexpected Surgeon expense, concurring to drain my monthly check.
Being retired and only an amateur, I'm thinking to go for the less expensive option Viltrox, 110€
( unless you pose some good argument against it, or in favor of another option I missed )

3) I did it at home and once the 18-140 tumbled out of the bag luckily dropping on the couch.
