    Good luck!

    There's a lot of possible variations:

    Upper layer: how much blur, how opaque, what type of blending, contrast, brightness, what kind of blur and even wavelet processing instead of blurring.

    lower layer: as-is, sharpened, contrast-by-detail-levels (RawTherapee).

    additional layers, masks ...

    Thanks, I think in this particular instance, as this is already soft due to fog I don't think Mr Orton works here, but I absolutely will try this on other images
