I have a P7800 and find the EVF has very low contrast and is to bright. I have searched the menus but did not find an option to adjust the EVF brightness. Now my question is, i am to dumb, or does the option really not exist?

What do you want to say to me with your answer? The Note talks about how 'advanced' the LCD-Monitor is, but do not mention anything about adjusting the EVF.

Yes, it does: Quotation from the text: The COOLPIX P7800 is equipped with an electronic viewfinder (EVF) and vari-angle monitor that respond flexibly
Looks like only the LCD display has a brightness adjustment. On page 75: download.nikonimglib.com/archive1/0WKAQ00ioZNB00s9GOg74EIvhs78/P7800RM_(En)04.pdf.
The last bullet point in the brightness section is "Cannot be set when the viewfinder is used".
Also note on page 10, it mentions under notes about Checking Image Colors: "Use the monitor on the back of the camera because the monitor has higher color reproducibility than the viewfinder."
You're right, greggyh. Note 2 I referenced only covered the monitor. Should have caught that!
