Password Reset: Change Confirmation Link problems

I'm trying to change my password.
The initial screen to enter my new PW works
I receive the 'Confirm Password Change' email (gmail)

I click on the [Save Changes] button and that takes me to a message
"Change Confirmation Link is invalid.
The confirmation link belongs to another user, was already used or has expired"

I've tried this a couple of times.
Maybe I've now locked something or I'm doing something wrong.

I would appreciate some guidance

Hi Messier,

I saw yesterday on dprforum that you were experiencing the same run-around from Dirk, the Admin guy, as I did when he resisted my request to shutdown my account there.

Long story short........there is no valid reason for him to not shutdown members' accounts when requested to do so. I told him that if he did not shutdown my account I would publish on the Internet the username and password to my account there (as I am entitled to do) for anyone to use if they wish since I had no use for it anymore. That must have really upset him because within half an hour the thread we were locking horns in disappeared and my account was shutdown as I originally wanted.

So if you really want to shut down your account and he hasn't done it yet perhaps tell him the same thing if you are comfortable with that.

Dirk is just a cyber bully that needs to be put back in his place every now and then.

Bug noted. I am hyper focused on notifications at the moment but I’ll try to take a break for quick bugfix release with that + email change (same logic) and adding pool options.

he's now branding me as a "troll" and has closed the thread.
I never expected to be treated so poorly by a System Admin
All I wanted was to close my account. My error was to disagree with him
His idea of closing the account is that I delete the personal info from my user profile (it didn't have any to begin with), log out and walk away.
When I mentioned the risk that dormant accounts can pose to his site and to me, he tells me that he knows more about that stuff then I do.

That is the same story he tried to push onto me as well. He said I was a troll bad mouthing him all over the Internet.

I dug my heels in because I know what he was saying is BS.

It's your call, but if you can still log in you could send him a pm or start a new thread and tell him the same as I did about publishing the username and password to your account on the www if he doesn't close your account.
