Does anyone have one of their lights? If so, I would love to hear about it. Seems like a nice small company with 25 employees. All lights are designed in house, but assembled overseas. The customer service couldn’t be any better. Thank you.

I used PCB strobes for about 15 years. They were fine units, although I did have trouble with their smart remote. I have since switched to Godox. Before PCB, I used Balcar.

I have a pair of Alien Bees 400s — I use them with Flashpoint (Godox) transceivers.

PCB lights were my primary lights for 15 years. Multiple AB’s WL, and Einstein. I used them in a low-volume professional capacity and never had a problem. Never needed to send a light in for servicing. Zero issues. They just work and they worked consistently.
PCB customer service is outstanding.
Anytime I was in the Nashville area (I lived in Atlanta at the time), I would run by the warehouse/office and buy something. Terrific folks.
That said, I would often want to get a modifier very close to the face of a model. I did become concerned about a flash tube possibly shattering and having glass flying about and potentially injuring the model. Is this a valid concern? Maybe/maybe not —- but I did get concerned. That’s where the Einsteins came in for me. With that Pyrex dome, I figured that in the unlikely even that a tube did shatter, the dome had a good chance of keeping the glass away from the model. I would use the Einstein for any strobe that went a few feet from a model’s face and use the WL/AB’s for fill, rims, ….. whatever else.
All that said, I never did have a tube shatter.

I used their WL10,000 units for years. During their early years they would fix the lights for free. After a while they started charging for repairs. I guess they had to to stay in business. I did all location work so my equipment took a beating and I needed occasional repairs. They're very nice people to deal with. Paul Buff passed away a couple of years ago.
