Interesting. Never seen one in person. There is one for sale on Etsy. The early digitals I've used are very hard on AA batteries. So how close is this to being like the Ricoh?

I couldn't say for the durability of the batteries.
All digital cameras had a bad reputation in those years.
But the quality of the photos was particularly disastrous for this Pentax!

Picture quality is rough. Though it looks great compared to my Nintendo Game Boy camera :). The Pentax looks very similar to the Ricoh RDC-1. Wonder if the two companies were teaming up way back then? Fascinating post.

My oldest real digital camera is an Olympus D-600 3x zoom with 1.4mp and a very compact 2mp Minolta dimage. I need to fire them up.

The Olympus D600L was a superb camera for the time, I have its little brother the D500L paid $35.00 in 2005

You can see the Ricohs here: dprevived.com/t/my-little-history-of-digital-compacts/381/2/ At the bottom of the page.

    Thank you!
