    Ah, the memories. Friend bought the D. I followed a little later with the Ds. Still have it. So glad they switched it from compact flash cards to SD.

    I was more Olympus OM film system than Pentax at the time. Killed me that Oly changed the lens mount on the E1. Didn't know there was an adapter. Bought the Pentax and loved it. Bought a bunch of Olympus thru the years to use all the OM glass. Never enjoyed them as much. Olympus menus were dreadful and controls different on every model. Now I shoot all the Pentax formats; Q, APS-C, FF, and 645.

    There was a prototype Pentax MZ-D before the *ist D. Wonder where Pentax would be today if it had launched?

    I think Pentax did well to withdraw, the 6MP sensor of Philips, it turned out to be a very bad sensor 😈
    Contax used it for their famous “Contax N Digital” and it was a total failure.
