Another of the raptors I've been following since July, here in northern Arizona, is a group of peregrine falcons that have been making the Mormon Lake Overlook their summer residence. Here, a peregrine scuds along Mormon Lake's east rim on a morning snack run.

Great shot Bill, in skilled hands the D500 +200-500mm is an excellent combo.

It's a fine combo. I just wish Nikon would get it over with and introduce a Z900, already 😀

I wonder if they will eventually move the DX Z models more upscale when they eventually update the sensor to a higher res model as it is with the near 20mp DX mode in the various 45mp bodies they throw in an DX "camera " for free 😀

Nikon contracts with Fujifilm for the production of lenses. The X-H2 and X-H2s are built around 40MP and 26MP sensors, respectively. If Nikon were to build a Z900 around the 26MP H2s sensor, that might be an interesting APS-C mirrorless for action. Though, Nikon would need to improve the AF performance to match that of the Z9 and Z8. It may be that autofocus performance requirements would keep Nikon tied to Sony sensor architecture. That'd be fine with me.
