I hope you liked the voting version of last weeks competition. We'll try it again for a week and see how it goes.

So, get posting your favourite images and see if they are a winner.

As last week - on Friday I will open the voting.

I’m a bit curious about why (for example) the bridge post got six likes but only four votes….

In general, I like the new way of judging, but I suspect that people may think they have voted when they have just clicked the like button. Is there a way of removing the like button from these threads? If not, the voting system needs to be made clearer.

Maybe the voting duration was too short?
I personally prefer previous system - counting just likes. Makes everything a bit less predictable and urges people to post their masterpieces earlier :)

Thanks to those who voted for my picture this week.

I think the old "like" system was better maybe.

There is no way of removing likes from just one post.

We'll give it one more week this way and then make a final decision. The other way (counting likes) is easier for me as I don't have to remember to set up a poll.

I took this in 2002 on a small Fuji camera.

Submitting photos and voting on photos should be anonymous! I don't believe I should have to spell out the reasons, but common sense should prevail here. The 'like' method doesn't work because it can be weaponized. Again, that shouldn't need explaining...

It was discussed when the thread was first established. It was never meant to be a "rigorous" competition and most everyone was happy with the simple like voting format. It is just an informal bit of fun between those that don't need / want the challenge format of dpr. Can it evolve. Yes. But the KISS principle is appropriate.

I heard there is a new variant out there, but I didn't realise that so many caught 'The Stupid'...

'The Stupid' part is meant to attract wider audience, don't you agree?

Oh c'mon, you want to destroy all the good points of current competition :( People are having little fun and they may even attempt to game the system a bit :)
This is not some public procurement process or similar, where big money is to change hands.

I don't know if you were feeling a bit sensitive and took it personally, but my reference to the KISS principle was related to keeping the competition simple.
