What do we do with all those pictures that fill up our hard disks?

I tend to base a lot of my photogrphy around a set project. I think it helps me to keep my interest in photography and it gives a purpose for my photography. I think it also improves my photography.

At first I made a Blurb book at the end of a project. But now I tend to make an Ebook first as a prototype, and as a work in progress template. They are also something to put on my Blog that can we viewed or downloaded.

Up to now I have just made collections of pictures. But with this new Ebook, linked below, which I will make into a Blurb book for myself, when I have finished, I have tried to add some words for those who view it on my site. Describing the subjects was pretty difficult. Quoting from sources in Italian, I am gradually making the words more personal.

Here is my latest project Terracotta.

    Nigel,

What a stupendous idea. What s/w do you use to make the ebook? OK - I've seen it's Book Creator. How well does that suit what you want to do?

A nice site, Nigel, with those flipping pages.

Faced with a similar but non-photographic task, I created my own site with basic HTML and a bit of javascript:

Your book is an excellent idea and very well executed. Enjoyed viewing your images and information about terracotta sculptures. The project looks professional.
    Thanks for sharing,

    Your Terracotta book looks great!
Looks perfectly executed and interesting to look at and read.
    Well done!

The books I make are mainly 30x30 cm photobooks of various trips and holidays, but these are just personal books.
It’s nice to hold them in your hands, they lay flat and you can put a photo across a double page, but of course they’re not available on-line.

Yes, I make Blurb books too, for my own use. It is a good way of having some record of my photography. Taking a book from the bookcase is easier than diving into a hard disk to look for old pictures.

In my family the book about our last cat, is the most popular.

It is made with Book Creator. It is an online app aimed at teachers. It is far the nicest Ebook app that i have found.

    bookcreator.com/features/whats-new-in-book-creator/

You have to fib and say that you are an "educator". Then you can make 40 books like mine for free. Or you can buy the iPad app as I did for a few Euro. But the online version is much better.

It is perfect for what I want to do.

In a way, we are all 'educators' 😁

I want to add that Book Creator is the only Ebook software that I have found that simulates reading a book with pages that seem to turn.

I am sure there are other choices. Maybe sombody has hound a better Ebook maker, that displays two pages at a time, like a real book

Something of an educator, apparently. 😁

I saw some ereader a while ago where when the pages flip, rather than being rigid as they're flipped, curl from the corner.
