Photo thread, all Sigma cameras

@scotttelly I have experimented and added multiple photos, with commentary in between the photos, (not just at top or bottom). I just wrote and added the post with 3 photos, in the Canon FF forum, with Canon 5DS photos, using the BBCode method as explained in this website instructions, for linking photos from flickr to this site, ie not uploading the photos. The linked photos are in the 17MB to 20MB size range on flickr, although I chose the "medium" size for the post (lower left, under the BBCode share link). Try it, then check using preview before posting.

Same on my computer Win7/Firefox.

@SandyF, is this now THE thread in this Category for sharing photos and discussing Sigma Camera stuff? ...

I hope Larry or someone will continue a weekly thread on dprevived for Sigma cameras' photos. As I stated in my post above, I intended to give a 'thank you' to the dprevived staff for raising Sigma to the alphabetical camera listing. A good thank you I felt/feel would be having Sigma users actually post Sigma photos. Thus my post as soon as 'Sigma Stuff' appeared.

If I understand correctly, then the all-encompassing title "Photo thread, all Sigma cameras" is not THE thread in this Category for sharing photos and discussing Sigma Camera stuff .., which makes the title misleading, IMHO.

Notice how Larry titles and dates his weekly thread. Quite different from my title. I understand my title to mean, "(a) photo thread, on which (everyone) (may=is invited to)) post (his/her own) photos from all Sigma cameras." I am truly sorry if the difference in Larry's thread title to my thread title is difficult to understand. I don't think so nor do I think it is misleading. IMHO

I'd have to side with Ted on this. Your title was confusing. But I think it was the fact that we're on a new site, and how things work are not totally clear.

On the old site, there were two types of photo-sharing threads. First, "here is my photo of (whatever), comments welcome". The second was "Post the pix you took (last week/of a barn/accidently, that turned out good/...)". Your title mushed those two types of thread together.

And Larry hasn't started a 'this week's photos' thread, which is the usual spot for various folk to post a couple of pix.

Okay, thanks David for your reply. It is not the end of the week yet, thus no brand-new weekly thread which will include in its title I assume April29-30.

Of course, anyone is welcome to post appropriate Sigma photos on any Sigma thread or what they call here "descriptive" fora and categories, as far as I'm concerned. In fact I asked early on (and never received replies) whether it is better "etiquette" to add to another person's threads or to begin one's own thread when posting on a topic. I just think the cardinal rule is, post your own photos, not someone else's photos. IMHO.

For example, I've seen some marvelous aurora borealis photos taken locally this week, but I'd never post another photographer's photos. I'd love to know the EXIF how they took them.

Thanks Arvo, I like your idea of monthly theme threads. I or someone else in May could start a monthly May spring-green (or should we say May change of season, since for our friends south of the equator, it will be autumn!) Theme threads in general may be a good idea to stir up some activity.

That's all I was attempting with this thread title, get some photos going. We'd been "promoted" in status, yet no one had acknowledged or posted under "Sigma Stuff" when I posted.

Mentioning Larry's titles' format is a non-sequitur. Yours remains misleading.

Of course you don't, it's your title.
