Since no one else has started a weekly thread since April, I'll volunteer this week. All Sigma cameras of course are welcome. I'll lead off with one of my DP3Quattro peonies, taken and processed last week. (Today is May 15). How and when do we wish to date weekly threads? On Flickr in large sizes and with other DP3Quattro photos.

lenses? For example, a Sigma lens on a Nikon camera and of course a legacy lens adapted to a Sigma camera would be "legal".
I would like to see a single date and that would be the Sunday for member's last-minute shots although I am aware that the week traditionally starts on Sunday. So next one would be "the week ending May 21st". In some countries, the holy day is Friday, so no big deal, eh?

I waited until Monday to start a weekly thread, to see is anyone else started one. Nope. I've always considered the weekend to be part of previous week, thus my thread's title. Plus this is how we titled them under Larry's lead, I believe.
My own preference would be to keep one thread for Sigma cameras. Another for Sigma lenses on non-Sigma cameras. Someone can start a separate thread, if you wish, under the Sigma lenses forum heading. There is a separate forum for Sigma lenses under the general Sigma heading, after all.
I only have a Sigma lens in one non-Sigma SA mount, a Sigma 50mm f/2.8 in Canon EF mount. I'd post a photo with it under a Canon forum. Tamron lens on Canon EF under Canon forum.
But of course people will post what they wish, where they wish. We're not overwhelmed by the number of posts here.
I simply thought someone should take the initiative to begin a weekly thread, since Larry has not since April.

Here's one I don't believe I've posted anywhere in a forum (only on flickr). A Weigela bush I planted a year or two ago. It's grown and bloomed nicely this year. The depth of field is actually too shallow at f/3.2 but that was about the best I could do at dusk ISO160. Photo taken on May 10. Larger sizes on flickr My husband and my continuing debate is how to pronounce Weigela LOL. We still haven't decided, after consulting several dictionaries and articles.

It seems to be named after a German called Weigel. So the English-style pronunciation would be Viguela. The U is to make the G hard, as it is in German.

Nice pic but wrong week.
Y'all may know that the biological names of flora are by convention pseudo-Latin. So, I think that the pronunciation should be per here. Except that there is no "W" in classical Latin ... I would pronounce "W" as in "way" even though the discoverer was likely Germanic...
... so: "Waygehlah" (hard "g").
Have y'all decided yet ... ?

Wikipedia says he was German, so the W should definitely be pronounced as a V sound.

Of course I must disagree because, if a name or even part of a name is embedded into a pseudo-Latin word, there should not be a requirement to know where that name came from. I won't insult you with an example but I'm thinking Portugese or, even worse, Polynesian where one might even need to know which Island.
On the other hand, Classic Latin is documented well enough for their purpose.

I once told our son, when we stopped for the night in (skip the name of town) West Virginia, at dinner: "Remember, here WE are the ones with an accent."
In my father's hometown New England area, people used to say I had a "southern" accent, although I think my accent is kind of standard mid-Atlantic, not Virginian. But it's fun hearing local versions of what to call that bush. -
