    Hi all,

I am looking for an f1.4 lens for my small OM5. I can find the PL II used for a relatively better price than the slightly bigger, heavier and more expensive Oly 20mm/1.4. However I don't know how the PL 25 II fares in SAF/CAF on Olympus cameras...

    thanks
    Yannis

    Hi Yannis,

I have both. Not to muddy the waters, but they are both brilliant. FOV is only consideration for me. If I were forced to drop one of them, I would part with the Leica, crying all the way through the sale. For that reason, I keep both and use both. If you must pick one, choose the OMDS 20mm (and I cringe suggesting that).

I had the same dilemma because I wanted a small weather sealed normal prime for general usage at low light and these are basically the only two that fit that criteria. I figured out that PL25 is actually a better buy because it's slightly lighter, smaller and with less aberrations and better sharpness at the widest apertures. It was also 2/3 of the price of a used OM20 so as soon as one appeared on mpb I got it immediately.
