Post Edits

What is the thinking around editing posts once posted?
DPR had a maximum number of edits (10 I think) and the ability to edit would end the instant someone replied to the post.

As someone who often fine tunes his posts shortly ex-post (as it were), yet thinks unlimited edits may lead to legerdemain and confusion, I would not mind something along those lines here, perhaps combined with a time limit (at DPR you could go back and change some posts years later).

I doubt if there will be any confusion.
Clicking on a poster's Edits show a recording of all changes.

Click on edited 2 times at the top of this post. lol

Lol Indeed, one learns more about how this site works every day.

On the other hand I think most folks would not necessarily know/bother about that and some sort of a hard stop would be useful. E.g. reread the OP.
