Could we please have a number (eg "#123") displayed so that if we want to reference a specific post in another thread, we can ?

Another forum I belong has this and its quite useful..

Another point - there seems to be an awful lot of wasted white space in your layout, it could pack a lot more in per page.

A permanent link to a specific post is available by clicking the button with the downwards arrow on the top right of each post in a thread.

Yes, a numbered #post is really better than any other link

Not on a phone - the down arrow does nothing …

I’d sooner link the parent page and say see post #456…

I'll add this to the developers feature request list.

Exposing the permalink post# would work nicely.

Dpreview had that as well and it was very useful.

It's also availabe here atm. Click the small down arrow near the top right corner of a post and then select 'Permanent link'. A pop up will appear, as shown below, with the link to the post displayed. You can see the post number for the post at the end of the link.

Select all of the link and copy it to your clipboard using Ctrl-C, or equivalent for Mac. In your post editor you can then place the cursor where you want to insert the link and click the 'insert link' icon in the post editor's tool bar near the top left. Paste the link into the insert link dialogue box.

This is an example of the 2 ways to display a link in a post - with or without text. This link will take you to my "Why Are My Images Noisy" post.

dropdown on phone with only one entry at the bottom is likely to be overlooked.

Please test and comment the new layout sticked to the dropdown button.

There’s „stick to bottom” css class on dropdown that can be removed to make it look like other dropdowns.

    Maybe is obvious, maybe not:
Is that a big job to show the number on each post for everybody to see,

instead of forcing people wandering blind to reconize

    what post is that #number/2336/post/22118/???

    PS: that's your post @Rafal

Clicking on it right now gives you this:

    2023-04-23 15 18 00.jpg

The others open the same picture in a new tab

Post numbers and page numbers would make threads much easier to follow and less confusing to navigate through.
