I wasn't sure where to post this - General Techniques or Tech Discussions. Perhaps it doesn't matter.
I have always been a left hemisphere type of person. I love science, technology, logical thinking. I was hopeless at art, couldn't draw, couldn't visualise. After practicing Yoga for some time that changed. Not that my artistic skills are necessarily any better. But I can appreciate art and now that I am into photography, I feel the creative process.
Maybe 20 years ago, I had a vision of creating images on ceramic tiles. Some time later I went to a ceramics class but the glazes used were coarse and my vision was of well defined pictures so I never followed it up.
Tonight I suddenly thought of printing my photos to ceramic tiles. Google showed a few different processes / methods (transfers, heat presses) I also got the impression that with the right printer and inks one could print their own - I like that idea. There were some adds from printing establishments and one mentioned their "revolutionary, environmentally-friendly HP Latex R2000 flatbed printer". I was thinking a capable printer may cost a few thousand and a quality one up to $10,000 or more. So I googled the HP Latex R2000. Could you believe over US$200,000 !!!
I guess I am going to have to start small...
