Not sure whether this is best asked in Windows Talk or Retouching or Printing...

    Windows 11 Home and X-Rite i1Profiler v 3.6.1

I have two monitors. 1) BenQ SW2700 and 2) Dell 1917S. I mostly use Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and ACR. I have the BenQ in landscape orientation and the Dell in portrait. I put my menus and palettes on the Dell and my image documents on the BenQ. When I run i1Profiler to generate an ICC profile for the BenQ all is fine. When I attempt to run i1Profiler for the Dell some portion of the i1Profiler window is off the right hand side of the Dell screen and there are application buttons that are off the screen and I cannot reach to press. In particular the button to confirm that the profiling device is uncovered and position correctly cannot be pressed. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so how did you work around it?

    Thanks,
    Peter

I always switch off all the monitors except the one I calibrate/profile.

Thanks. I tried switching off the BenQ monitor and launching i1Proiler, but it launched on the BenQ monitor and I could not think how to bring it over to the Dell.

Here is whet the screen looks like on the BenQ. (first image).

And here is what I see on the Dell. (second image)

AND I apparently don't know how to paste images into this thread, either.

I can't reach the OK button. (third image)

    Images list in reverse order.

I have managed to run the profiler for the Dell monitor. I realized that all I needed to get past was the OK button, which was off the side of the screen. I tried a (somewhat) random sequence of TAB keys and RETURN keys, hoping that the TAB key would advance to the next Windows field or button and RETURN would select that button, and it worked.

    Thanks,
    Peter

I switch off monitors by disconnecting the signal cable and rebooting.

Ah, now I understand. Thanks. Is there a reason that you disconnect the monitors that you are not profiling? Does it impact the outcome any?

I found something interesting and I don't know whether it is correct or not. when I open an ACR window on my BenQ monitor and then slide it across to the Dell monitor - to see whether I can detect any difference in the colour - I notice that once the majority of the window is over on the Dell the part still on the BenQ decidely changes colour. I can slowly slide the window left and right across the division between the two monitors and I see the colour (only on the BenQ) change.

Several years ago I noticed that between Photoshop, Bridge, and Adobe Camera Raw, that one of these would mistakenly pick up the ICC for the Dell and use it on the BenQ. My work around was to use the ICC for the BenQ on the Dell - same ICC for both. My recent attempt to profile the Dell was to determine if that problem still existed. I believe it is now fixed, in so far as that I can open three of these windows on the BenQ and they all look the same.

Either way, the BenQ is the one that I need colour fidelity. I can live with the Dell being off a bit.

    Thanks,
    Peter

It shouldn't, but sometimes it does.

I think it is because the image is considered as a whole for the purpose of colour management, and the profile is applied to all of it it.
