I took some rainy night shots with G9+ Oly 45 1.2 I must say I am not happy with focusing capability of Oly 45 1.2, it is likely me but I find hard to nail focus.
PS I posted in wrong forum :) Supposed to be in mFT forum....
Dadeland,
Nice set of photos.
I especially liked the first one. You conveyed the sense of isolation that a person feels in a setting like that.

Like them all, you gave me some ideas… Would this work also with a shorter lens? Maybe not so much the isolation part, but the rest I think so… very nice!
really good! mood well captured
I have that lens and use it mostly for a charity fashion show held annually that I shoot for the organizers. It is the sharpest lens I own by a long shot. I think the softness in your images is a result of the heavy rain and high ISOs. The images are low contrast when taken because of the conditions. Perhaps the G9 is a contributing factor with the DFD focusing instead of PD but I have no experience with it so I have no idea if that is a factor or not. Under daylight conditions in snow and high ISO I get soft images with the OM-1 with any lens I use.
You have some very nice images in your set with regards to composition and subject material. I don't think the lens is an issue. All are shot with a low f number so depth of field will be limited too.

Hi Yannis. I normally don't like using 45 mm lens. I guess it is a bit telephoto lens, I prefer to be closer to subjects but it has a good use similar to ones I posted. I used that lens on this particular night purely due to practical reasons: it was only prime lens I have with weather sealing. When it rains day time I use either Pana 12-60 which is slow for night time or Oly 12-40 bit better but still slow.
My preferred FL is 28mm but I have no 14mm lens now. I have Oly 17mm 1.8 which is less than ideal for me but still does the job.
