    In this image the birch trees are just starting to but whilst the rest of the vegetation is still in winter mode. This area in the English Lake District has steep glaciated valleys that mean for a short time each day the sun illuminates some of the trees but leaves the background in shade thus separating the subject(s). Feel free to comment. Ken

    This is beautiful, Ken. I love how the bright horizontal line of the grasses complements the brilliance of the tree trunk. And the muted colors really work for me, too.

    Its a beautiful image really but the (in the OP) uploaded version doesnt do it justice as the upload algorithm seems to have softened it considerably.
