I hope this is the place to introduce ourselves. I'm John McCormack on the old DPR site since 10/03/2001. This site looks like it has lots of potential. Thanks to everyone helping to set it up. 👍 My computer skills are minimal (no coding experience) but If I can be of assistance let me know.

I've made the trip from DPReview and hope this alternative gains some traction. Thanks to those who put in the effort to set this up and host thus new site.

I'm just one who took pictures every now and then during my younger years. When I retired I knew that my "ball-playing" days would eventually end, so I decided that entering the photography community (as an amateur, always) would be a worthwhile hobby. Got Panny FZ1000 (when it was new), and depended on the DPR forums to learn how to use it, learn how to process RAW with various editing programs, and how to take reasonably good images. Quite frankly, DPR was my Holy Grail and loosing it hurts, but how we will have DPReviewed to take its place. I'm a happy camper.

I have been on DPR since 2006 in various forums but the Panasonic forum has always been a special place to me, even before I had a Pany camera. There has been so many great photos posted there and lots of willing to help members. I hope it continues here.

I posted a link of this forum in the Panasonic DPR forum and will be bumping it every couple of days to stay on top. Hopefully more people join in. Looking good so far. There are several parallel efforts to continue/replace the DPR forums so there will be some fragmentation with users spread around different sites. We will have to be looking for reviews and analysis someplace else but it is great to continue the forums. Thanks for making this happen!

I joined DPreview back in 2009 when I got my first digital camera as JSim.

I'm glad to see other forum members migrating here. I really hope that this new site can archive the postings from DPreview ... It would be sad if the collective wisdom in the thousands of member posts is lost.

Oh great aerial! Very nice! Except for it's probably not even an aerial you're probably just standing on level ground. That is so cool!

Hi y'all. Well everyone who knows me knows I couldn't even figure out how to hold a camera and returned six cameras before I kept my fz1000 Mark II lol.
With much gratitude to many old members of DPR review and a shout out to Albert who was the most patient kindest teacher I've ever seen I learned how to do photography. Then I put the camera in p mode and kept on with it for the most part. But I am really really thankful to everyone that taught me so much!

Dear Jacqueline, we just exchanged ideas and shared the experiences only. Nothing will happen if you are not talented.

    Love to see you again.

Wow, this is weird. This is KDub, formerly K-Dub from dpreview. Be on the lookout for some airshow pictures. I'm headed to Lakeland, FL for Sun n' Fun day and night airshows on Saturday, April 1. Besides airshows, I like nature/wildlife photography, with the occasional video thrown in. Here's one of my favorites from my old Panny TS6 (R.I.P., now replaced by a GoPro 8).

    Current cameras: FZ2500 & GoPro Hero 8

Hello all, I began taking photographs in the early 1960's, got my first SLR in1971 and shot film, mainly Kodachrome 64 into the early 2000s before switching to digital. Switched from Canon to Olympus for its lighter weight (the lower cost lenses were an added benefit). My main interest is nature photography: mammals, birds, herps, wildflowers, waterfall and scenery; we've lived in northcentral Pennsylvania for 53 years and I've been a blogger for ten years -- forestandfield.blogspot.com/

Thank you to each and every one who've put time and effort into dprevived.
