Hi first time poster in this forum.
A problem has developed with my RF 100-500.
Symptom no1, the lens clunks loudly up to 3-4 times when I turn the camera on. After this happens just so long as I don't change the focus distance the lens behaves as normal.
But if I take my finger off the focus button and change my focal distance sometimes it does it again. Im a bird shooter and this is costing me time to acquire the bird again.
Symptom no2, sometimes when I try to focus the lens clunks and the screen blacks out but the focus point is still illuminated.
The same things sometimes happens when the camera is in rest mode.
This only started last week and I have been using this lens for 10 months now without a problem.
I have tried the lens on another camera and the lens does the same.
I have checked the contact points for damage and can't see any.
I have cleaned the contact points and even brushed them with a toothbrush but the problem persists.
Has anyone out there had this problem or is there any advice I could try before I contact the company I bought the lens from?
