We take this break from bird photos to share a photo of a kite. I was at the Mormon Lake Overlook Sunday evening and saw this biplane kite riding the wind above the overlook. I decided to slow the shutter speed way down from the 1/2000 I often use for birds to 1/50 in the hope of capturing the streamers looking a bit liquid while the main body of the kite retained enough definition to be recognizable. I like the result :)

I really do need to go fly a kite.

The slow shutter speed worked very well to show motion in the tail while still maintaining clear detail in the kite.
