This is a ProCapture sequence as I would like all my sequences to be – away from a feeder and keeping the bird in frame for much of the sequence .. I shoot ProCap taking only the 15 frames prior to pressing the shutter button and try to frame the bird so that he is at least two thirds in the frame with wings extended and not clipped by the frame. .. here he stays in frame for the entire sequence of 15 exposures and there is only minor cropping. The focus is better than adequate IMHO and maybe a bit atmospheric or “glamorous” in the old term …

The sequence really looks better if you can do a slide show with the frames … hope this was of interest and not tedious … I wanted to find a set of 6 or 7 from these but couldn't make the cut ...

You did well with these WN, capturing the action.

I have been having issues putting up images like these in a sequence as instead of the last one posted being last, it is first! Also, sometimes they post one beneath the other and sometimes beside each other with no reason I have been able to ascertain as to why they are different. Then I have to tediously go through the code and insert line returns. You seem to have come to grips with this well. At times I give up and insert the images one at a time instead of in a group.

I solved my different battery issue with the EM1, EM1ii, and OM1 by not using my EM1 and more!

Thanks for stopping by, Andrew and for the comment

I always rename and number the sequence locally. With DPR I use to number the sequence backwards so when uploaded they would appear in the Galery in the proper order and I could add them one at a time to the post. Here it is similar as when I upload as a batch they end in reverse order but in a list at the bottom of the page and I can access them from bottom to top pressing the display button for this post ....

As to batteries I like the M1.1 still as an intermediate camera with various lenses because of the tilting LCD but it also is handy to put the 12-100 or 40-150 lens on, as the M1.2 usually has the 100-400 nailed to it, so I can grab the right lens as I go out the door ... I really wanted to reduce the whole thing to a single lens when I bought the M5.3, small battery that requires that I always carry at least one spare and I would never use it for ProCap ... that didn't quite work out and the 5.3 while useful and a good camera is probably the least used ... but now I juggle three different batteries ... Not sure how I'll solve that ..

    Agreed!

Look at your file names, they are easy to get in order then.

Thanks for stopping by, Paul, did you get a cup of coffee when came in?? ... I haven't done any birds for about a week now .. constant overcast and a bit of vertigo that yesterday stayed around all day ... and ProCap isn't something I can go without practice yet so I'll start over again later this week if the clouds move on ... and I look forward to your efforts here ...

I think we are pretty impressed WN. Action all the way. Of course it's down to you and your technique not the fancy camera

Thank you. Rich ... I think of this ProCapture as a different discipline. It's a lot like taking a video and then searching frames for that frame that can be put on the billboard. and like video it is about p[positioning the camera, anticipating the action and timing that action and I haven't got that down quite yet ...

Thank you, Rich .. As I was expounding to RichZ, I think of this as discipline slightly different from still photography ... and it really is that fancy camera because the functionality is only found on several of the recent ones... unless one uses a video camera and starts filming ahead of the action ... I think ...
