I might buy a reasonably priced X-Pro3 and wondering what to check specifically for this model. I will test AF, sensor etc. But I don't know much about this model's weak points. I was going to wait for X-Pro 4 or new X100 but I don't think that it will come soon.

As Foskito said, the screen is certainly the weak point. And there is no way to test if it will break. One day the sub monitor just goes and then the LCD. The only way to ensure it does not happen is to never flip open the screen.

In addition to the usual suspects that you should check on every body, I would also check the EVF & screen in the back.
There are conflicting reports about the screen. Personally I don’t open it for more than 45º and did not encounter any issues (so far, knock knock). If it is used there is no way to find out how the body & screen were used, so there’s always some risk involved.

Conflicting reports? I can assure the issue is real because I had the issue.

Nobody said the issue isn’t real but it’s an unknown how many percent are affected and if this a design or manufacturing issue.
And it’s obvious that the affected users are a vocal minority.

Another thing to check is the shutter button, some of these have failed (or been poorly adjusted from factory). Take as many pictures as you can and get the feel of it, if you’re finding that it doesn’t always fire or you sometimes have to press harder than you expect, you’re probably not imagining it and it probably does have a fault.
I had this on two different XP3’s, both from factory, I ignored it on one (and later sold it on) but the other eventually got worse to the point where Fuji replaced the top plate under guarantee - since then no problem.

We are starting to see people saying they've had it die twice. Extremely unlucky if so few are affected. You have to remember many people do not use their cameras very often. I see so many cameras (all brands) being sold with so few actuations and they are many years old. If people do not use their cameras often, it will take a long time to figure out if they have the issue.
