    Hi,

Yeah. Some years back, this happened on Lake George, NY. The boat crew was counting heads to calculate capacity using the old US Coast Guard 150 pounds per person weight guideline. And the same thing happened. And I don't think any selfies were involved.

Wonder if she had a little bit of help? Still under investigation.

Something I thought it was funny , at the time, was during the last year time trial at the tour.
A lady at the bottom of her farm , sitting at a table about 1 m above the road, missed the tour leader going by because she was playing with her phone.
She could have just about touched him.

Yes I did years ago and I failed. I remember at the time I thought that there was a trick , as by having two clips one with and one withoput but no , we just miss the gorilla in the first pass.

The funny thing is once the gorilla entered I was more interested in the gorilla and lost count. Then again I am easily distracted to a fault.

We use that clip with motorcycling training to show how easy it is to get distracted.

I haven't watched it in some time, but out of curiosity, how did you notice the gorilla? Was it wearing a thong? lol...

I've managed to stay alive riding motorcycles for over 50 years because not only do I constantly scan for everything all the time, but everyone on the road is a complete and utter incompetent that is looking to take me out! When I took a motorcycle riding class in the US, the instructor said that the probability of getting in an accident on a motorcycle in the first 10 years of use was 100%. He didn't cite a source, so I just did a quick search and found this:

    www.iii.org/fact-statistic/facts-statistics-motorcycle-crashes

    screenshot-www.iii.org-2024.01.15-22_23_17.png

So, good on you for being hyper-aware, but the fact of the matter is that motorcycles are far, far, far more dangerous (to their drivers) than other vehicles. Myself, I was almost killed three times riding a motorcycle. Nevermind that it was because there's a chance that some might say I was doing things that were just a tad illegal. 😏

You also need a breakdown by age. You will find (I can't prove it, but I've seen the figures for the UK somewhere), that age group 17-21 are the most vulnerable followed by the 81-90's. For obvious (to me) reasons.

I've had my fair share of close calls and have used up my nine cat lives. I'm lucky to be alive not through motorcycle riding, but from many other activities that were just as dangerous. I used to have my own aircraft and have flown around many places around the world which had some unique challenges to say the least!
Can you say failed aircraft engine...lol
