I see the category "Canon FF Talk" is specified for DSLRs and "Canon EOS R Talk" would of course be RF mirrorless.

The "Canon APS-C Talk" isn't clear. As someone who is still in DSLR / EF / EF-S land, it would be great to see a clear distinction (meaning two different categories) between DSLR APS-C bodies and Mirrorless APS-C bodies. Personally I'm not a fan of browsing a forum category where the majority of threads are about mirrorless. They are so new that other discussions get lost / ignored.

Would also be nice to add 2 more categories one about EF & EF-S lenses and the other about RF & RF-S lenses.

Personally I love the way DPReview had it ...
    DPReview forum sections

    Thanks for reading.

I agree a bit more separation in different lens groups perhaps would be nice
Perhaps adding two subs one for RF/RF-s lenses and one for EF/EF-s lenses.
And perhaps one for the EF-m lenses ?

Have seen that thread also, let @AlanSh work things out for now 😁
We still can file a request again in a few days if we want more separation in the various Canon Eos mounts and cameras

Agreed. I like the breakdown that DPR had for Canon.

BTW, major kudos to those spearheading this effort on DPRevived. So cool of them. Thank you.

This is also a test to see if my first post (reply) works :)

I think the breakdown is the same as it was for Canon - at least it was intended to be. The onlky difference was the combination of the two APS-C categories on DPReview. They had one for Rebels and one for x0D and the 7D. I did the same over on the Nikon forums and merged the two DX forums. The problem was that I didn't put 'SLR' in the name, which I have now. The R forum is all one, FF and APS-C

So that means if I want to start a thread about an EF lens on a 5D/6D/1D series body I should be in Canon FF DSLR section
And about an EF-s lens it should be in the Canon APS-C DSLR section?
But what to do with an EF lens which I use on a R series body? (or EF-s lenses used on a APS-C R7/ R10)
Pehaps just ad an Canon Lens section for all lenses EF(s) and RF(s)

I'd be interested, how much activity was there on the specialist Canon, Nikon and Sony lens forums on DPReview. I didn't put them in just because we ended up with so many forums. Anyhow, Alan Sh is dealing with forums, so you could send him a message if you want to chat about it with him.

I see that this forum has now been renamed "Canon APS-C DSLR Talk". 👍

    Dunlin,
I'm glad to see a thread dedicated to APS-C. So many of the Canon Forums around the internet are so heavily populated with R-series users.

Just send me a message and I'll look into any changes/additions. I don't have time to look through all forums all the time and I do occasionally miss things.

    Cheers
