Because it appears, that @AlanWF has moved the thread back to DPReview, where there is more traffic, I hope he doesn't mind if I continue the tradition of this thread here, in order to provide a place to show images made with adapted lenses, and (compared to other image sharing threads) perhaps also get a little bit more into the details of the lenses they were shot with, as well as the adaptors/tools etc.

So this is an invitation to dust off your precious (or not so precious) glass and head out to make some photographs: the real reason for the existence of all our lenses.

    Here are the guidelines:

    • Images with a removable adapter between lens and camera
    • Images with the lens mount permanently modified to fit a different camera
    • Images with the lens held by hand without an adapter (freelensing)
    • Including metadata (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed) is encouraged but not required.
    • Images can be, but are not required to have been taken this month, so feel free to add some adapted lens shots from your archives as well

Comments are encouraged, but please keep them friendly and constructive.

Continued from the August 2023 thread.

A BIG THANKS to @AlanWF for providing this great framework and trying to keep things up here as well for a while! 👍

I've recently adapted an old Leitz enlarging lens called Voort 9.5 cm f/4 and was surprised by the results:

You probably wouldn't guess this unassuming metal barrel produces anything of value:

I feel like it stil does though and am happy, that I finally got around to give it a try.

    More Leitz.

Tripods are not very popular today.

Love the idea with the silhouette - makes it look like a very experimental device. Perhaps some kind of time machine? Or one to solve the big problems of our universe, like the chicken/egg question or the correct pronunciation of tomayto, tomahto? 😉

Another lens I hadn't used in a while, but recently gotten out again because of its amazing ability to make soap bubbles (while not being a triplet, like the Trioplan or TTArtisan 100 mm):

Because of this it's also a (more than) decent macro lens:
