Odos Ippoton, otherwise known as The Street of the Knights, Rhodes old town. Deliberately timed so the sun is shining straight up the street. Comments on the B&W treatment especially welcomed.
Very Nice. I like the way it portrays depth
This image has a lot of appeal. A fantastic composition, obviously perfectly timed and well thought out. The arch and its shadow are the main attraction and hold attention simply on the basis of powerful graphic appeal but the scene itself is no slouch - the old stone buildings perfectly bisected with a leading line/vanishing point effect and a lone mysterious figure at the far end to reward a careful viewer. There's even a dotted trail down the flagstones (drips from a vegetable cart? cat footprints? bloody drops from a murder victim?) to the street which has it's own leading lines embedded and alongside. Masterful composition.
The black and white conversion seems to cover a pretty full tonal range from the clouds to the darkest shadows of the arch and windows. There is adequate detail in the parts that need them. There is a slight haloing where light and dark edges meet. I'd suggest that if you take this to print, which it deserves, you fix the halos first. There's various ways to do it, from tracking down at what point they entered the image and reprocessing in a way to keep them from occurring, or employing a Fix-It approach (I confess I usually do the latter since I like the positive effects of clarity and sharpening and high contrast that tends to exacerbate them).
All in all, quite a fine image. Well done.
A very striking image. I think the B&W works well. I think a very very small clockwise rotation would help.

Very nice!! In addition to fixing the halos, you might want to consider cloning out what appears to be a hanging light fixture and its shadow,
