Our weekly photographic workshop can struggle to find subjects over the winter months. Fortunately long exposures offer a wide range of subjects that can inspire a good number of sessions. Here are some of those I shot using my Pentaxes over the years:

Lovely shot! I've never seen the aurora, although I live in a semi rural location light pollution, is likely to completely mask it on the rare occasions that it's supposedly visible this far south.

Is 4 hours long enough to qualify for long exposure?

    M81 & M82

    M81/M82

These two galaxies are gravitationally bound and the gravitational interactions have warped both galaxies. They are 12 million light-years distant toward the northern constellation of the Great Bear.

M82 is the longer irregular looking galaxy and the spiral is known as M81.
