    Wow! Amazing

Is the flying one a juvenile?

You could try the Nature and Wildlife Photography forum. It doesn't really matter to me cos I tend to use the Threads view - and therefore dip into many forums (fora?) depending on the title, poster, etc - whatever takes my interest

These are beautiful. Great sequence. Figured it was ProCap.

As to where they might best be appreciated, that's a quandary right now. I share some of your frustration because images and ideas are all I'm interested In. There is not much traffic on the image centric subsections here, but there isn't any more on those sections in the old DPR either and there's a lot more people there. The camera-centric sections don't seem that interested in images. The share threads are the best bet on here or on old DPR, though here they do get crazy because of the flat format. We have had a few to try out photo stories in the C&C thread here. Mike's venture did OK this week; more members seem to be coming to some terms with the limitations of the format. Some other forums have specific sections for birds that are fairly well utilized but most are used even less than here or DPR.

There is still room for hope here. Building a new forum is a long slow slog filled with bumpy detours and redirections. At least here the admins listen to us and engage in conversation. That is exceedingly rare.

Well it is not dead until no one posts in it WN. That said, it is on its last legs.
    I like the set.

Thank you for stopping by and the comment, Tim ... Juvenile? Maybe a pair ... It seems that things are slow enough here these days that the discussion about sub forums seems unnecessary at this point except for future reference, if that is needed .... I think we all start with Threads these days ..

ProCap is a useful feature but with finches not completely necessary

    2013 Finch.jpg

A picture from a decade ago taken with the E-30 and the 70-300mm lens with manual exposure and single shot (apparently as I look at the Raw files from that day) Many more from those days some better some worse ... Finches are fun to play with ...

Most of the 4/3rds Weekly members moved back to DPR as they were uncomfortable with how this site worked -- no elaboration except the missing Threaded View .... I won't go further into that ..... I suspect that I'll spend more time back at DPR and less here. .... but will kibitz from time to time ... It's difficult to find a photo centric site where there is any conversation at all ... and then it is usually difficult to join that conversation without investing a year or so in the site ... my previous experiences ...

Thanks again, Andrew .... 3 days, 11 days, 13day, 14days, 18 Days, 20 days ... seems pretty dead to me and I'm looking to see if there is something more active here but suspect that like most photography forums pictures generate little to no conversation... C&C seems to be the exception for now ...
