This is the weekly Show Your Pictures thread where we invite you to show your own pictures, whether they be ordinary or extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment about your photos, if you choose to share. When you are posting your own images please submit them as a reply to this post. Otherwise your pictures may be overlooked. See my own photos for this week as a reply. Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too. Thanks everyone for your participation.

This is open to all camera systems and skill levels.

As a suggestion while this DPRevived photography forum is under the early stages of development, resizing the images to a smaller size is a good idea. Also when replying to someone's pictures, try to remember to not include the copy (quote) of their images (if you don't need to do this). This will save some space too.

Subject Title: Green Spring With Floods

This spring some of the green leaves are starting to show. We have had steady showers so I've had to make sure I had umbrellas with me. In addition to the rainstorms the mountain snows are starting to melt which has created flooding along some rivers. I will show this here with my pictures.

I enhanced my MS Word program recently, so that I can give you all the EXIF data quickly below each image. I keep thinking of new ideas, as code development is something that grows from early concepts. If anyone of you are interested, please let me know.

Cleaning out a drawer led me to an old 2013 point and shoot Nikon L620 camera. It seems to be working great. The resolution on the 1/2.3" sensor is 18 MP. The long telephoto shot is an effective 350mm. I ran these files through Topaz Photo AI to clean up the noise and add a little sharpness. It's nice to have a bar soap-sized camera that can do so many things back in my hands.

Noisy Minor Bird Canon RP Tamron 100-400 at 400mm
Processed in Capture One 22 and Topaz AI

It was a cloudy day so the white background was unavoidable and this was about the only bird on a tree (up high) in my yard at the time.
This is a most annoying bird as it tends to be quite territorial and tries to chase away other species.

    These are heavily cropped

    IMG_3770_Small.jpg

I have never seen one with a forked tongue before (come to think of it I haven't seen their tongues before so maybe they are all forked?)

    Hi Digirame,

We sometimes see the river level increase where I live when the snow starts to melt although this year we have had very little snow. Your spring flowers look very pretty. It's interesting to see the walk through the woodlands.

    Howard,

That's great. The details show up very well here of the faded, cracked and peeling paint. A few years ago, once I tried a 4mp Olympus P&S camera I found at a recycle center. The images did not look that good in the shadows of a mountain. I think I needed to take it in sunshine. But it was OK. It was fun playing around with it.

    Fotoword,

As long as everyone is OK with it, we opened this weekly "Show Your Pictures" thread to all camera systems and abilities. We did it that way at Dpreview for years. A lot of us start with a Canon DSLR camera and then move on to mirrorless or another brand. A while back, I bought a couple Canon M50 MKII cameras also, to see what it was like to use mirrorless. I especially like the Canon M50 MKII for video. I'll most likely buy into the R system some day, but I'm not in a hurry to do it.

    Paul (Fotoword),

That's an interesting bird. I don't think we have them in Oregon where I live. I know what you mean about having a cloudy sky as a background. We've had a lot of clouds and rain recently. I'm using the Tamron 150-600mm lens for my bird photography.

    Mocha,

Thanks for your reply. What I liked about that walk is that the green leaves first show up at the forest ground level quite abundantly. It's so nice to see it. It's my guess that we are going to have a wet spring, so I think I'll be using those umbrellas a lot more. I'll keep a watch on the flooding to see if it gets worse in that area.

    Mocha,

That's cool to see the pigeon. I haven't seen one around where I live in a long time (if ever). That flower looks super with that background...good job isolating it. :-) That's an excellent capture of a frog. They can make it difficult to photograph, for when they see us, they jump away quickly. At least I've found it hard. Wow...that's a super image of the Kestrel.

Cool thank you for the clarification.

Got a bit too excited in wanting to post these images as I have not used this camera/lens combo in quite a while and was surprised that it worked as well as it did.

    Cheers

Here's Photo No. 6 brightened up a little bit. It was very cloudy and sprinkling some, but I thought it was too dark.

    Thank you for the comment.

They're as common as hens beaks around here although they are often confused with a similar looking and behaving bird called the Indian mynah which is an invasive species rather than native to Australia.

It's been wet or cloudy here quite regularly.

The Tamron 150-600 would be a great lens.

I've got the Canon m6ii (m5 before) and it's an excellent little camera but I'm not using it much at the moment as I've bought into Fuji over the last couple of years.
I've been waiting for Canon to bring out a successor to the RP and it looks like the R8 is it. Now just have to bide my time while the sales happen down the track.

    Hi mocha
Very nice range of images and while I like the frog/toad I can't go past the Kestrel.

I saw one last year while I was on holiday interstate (in Australia) and got a few shots (not in flight) and was super excited.

    Cheers
