This is the weekly Show Your Pictures thread where we invite you to show your own pictures, whether they be ordinary or extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment about your photos, if you choose to share. When you are posting your own images please submit them as a reply to this post. Otherwise your pictures may be overlooked. See my own photos for this week as a reply. Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too. Thanks everyone for your participation.

This is open to all camera systems and skill levels.

As a suggestion while this DPRevived photography forum is under the early stages of development, resizing the images to a smaller size is a good idea. Also when replying to someone's pictures, try to remember to not include the copy (quote) of their images (if you don't need to do this). This will save some space too.

    Unusual Nature.

    Hi all,

This week is all about 'Head Scratchers'. :-) Two birds/ducks that don't frequent the UK, sharing a NorthWest lake together. The Black Swan a native of Australia and a Chiloé wigeon This bird is indigenous to the southern part of South America.

Two trees locked together in a wrestling match and a strange Wild flower.

    Mocha,

That's a good eye to catch the locking branches. In Oregon we have an Octopus tree that has long sweeping branches (along the coast near Cape Meares). They don't lock, but they are odd, like octopus legs with some imagination. Yes, the flowers look strange, but I like the bright purple color. That's neat you were able to find it. The birds must be "escapees". I wonder if they escaped from domestication. I enjoyed seeing your pictures.

    Subject: Tulips

The tulips are late this year due to our late wet and cold spring. Here's a couple pictures of one tulip that I found during cloudy weather.

Nice pictures! The official name is red-winged blackbird. I have only ever seen them in the USA.

    David,

Thanks! I wasn't able to reply until today. Somehow this forum wasn't working yesterday. Yes, it's a Red-Winged Blackbird.

    Steve,

Thank you. That Tamron 150-600mm lens makes all of this possible, where I'm able to get close to the birds. I've had that lens (I think) for over five years.

I know DPRevived's automatic metadata display function nearly exactly duplicates the metadata I typed, but I'm going to continue doing it manually for a few weeks until DPR is fully on its feet.

DPRevived now has an option to change the background.
If you haven't already noticed, see the blue "Choose Style" button at the top of the page:

This is what it looks like with the option "light+bg":

Yes, I saw the button to change the background. I'm continually impressed at the efforts that DPRevived is making with their improvements.

    Dunlin,

I just love seeing the Bluebell flowers. Do you have any of them with a wide angle view, where you show them growing together in a field? Like can we see a carpet of blue colors?
