Thank you very much - glad you think so! Here's a different bee on a different flower shot with the same lens:

Even though it's far from the sharpest lens in town, I really enjoy its rendering.

    Simplejoy,

That's nice. The bee is sharp enough. I like the light-colored blue flowers too. I used to take picture of bees. The depth of field can be shallow and they move around so fast. But it's fun when you get the right one.

    Ray,

That's a neat looking bird. What kind is it? Where did you take the picture?

Yes your right, I've just added the information to the post :) Thanks.

    The subject is a Spoonbill.

The picture was taken in Delft, where there's a small colony of the species.

    Hi Digirame, Thank You.

I believe it's set to become even hotter as Spain is having a heat wave and we could get some of that over here. It's an early butterfly the Peacock, hopefully the Damselflies will be about this month.

Hi everybody. David who posted on this thread has started a monthly "Show Your Pictures" thread, beginning with the month of May. So next week I will not start another weekly "Show Your Pictures" thread, so that we don't compete with each other. I'll be posting on the "May" thread starting next Monday and will try to respond to all your photos as I've done in the past. It's in a new category for all Canon cameras and the category is called "Your Canon Photos". I don't know if he would keep this open for all camera brands and models. You could ask him.

We all know for the Canon brand, there are many different P&S, bridge, crop & full frame DSLR and mirrorless cameras. We all could being using more than one of these at one time, so it makes sense to show pictures that include all of them.

Let me know your thoughts. I'll make a general announcement about this also.

Digirame and I are actually working together on the new thread. I do not see any reason to stop anyone from posting photos made with non-Canon cameras: the more the merrier. I hope people will discuss each other's photos there.

    Best,

    David
