Just messing with X-H2s and no shutter speed in viewfinder, turned to to be that I had set dynamic range to auto.
Why would I not need to know my shutter speed it don't make sense to me.
I posted this in Open Talk probably not the best place so put it here as well

With Auto-DR on, until you lock exposure (usually with a half-press of the shutter button) the camera hasn’t yet decided to go with either DR100 or DR200 and doesn’t know what the shutter speed will be.

I just tried on mine in Auto-DR mode. When I half press the shutter, it then shows shutter speed and F-Stop.

SHUTTER AE must be enabled (you should see it with AEL engaged too).

See Rico Pfirstinger’s book “X secrets” why Auto DR is a bad idea.

As a RAW shooter, I'm of the opinion that the DR modes are a bad idea in general..

Ditto for raw files, and Rico agrees.

I have found the problem it depends what mode you are in M,A,S,P but still I can't understand why it will not show shutter speed in aperture priority it just seem odd to keep it secret

Because, with Auto DR on, the camera doesn’t decide which DR mode (and SS) to use until you lock the exposure - it’s an unknown. Could the implementation be different with a real-time display? Quite possibly, but it isn’t. If you want to see the SS value in real-time, simply don’t use Auto-DR.
