He has been saying the same thing l don't know how many years now. "we have not succeeded in developing a full-size sensor at this time..."
Current CMOS technology is so advance that I really doubt they could come up with something better. Imagine Sony sensors in a year or so.
They don't have to come up with something better. Arguably they never did come up with something better. However, they were always different enough to be interesting, and being different is even more valuable when your primary camera alternative is a smartphone. That's where the renewed interest is in analog, not because vinyl is better than Spotify or film is better than CMOS, but because of their character.
Which is why I only own an SD9 of the Sigmas, bought new-in-box a couple years ago, in spite of considerable "advances" in later models over the years.
Different for the sake of being different? If by different means crappy IQ above iso 400, slow readouts, appealing battery life, etc I rather stay with the “non-different”.
It's much more likely that the first FFF will be L mount.
The sdQH is SA mount, which is a nuisance.. However, Sigma do have an adapter for using SA lenses on their L mount cameras. So I can use the 50mm Art on both the sdQH and the fp.
