There is no validation of a user's email address during the registration process.
This is a common security measure to prevent bad actors from registering with an email address that is not theirs.

Perhaps you have implemented (in the background)…
enable_stop_forum_spam
"This settings allows you to decide whether or not [Stop Forum Spam] database should be used to validate IPs and emails during new users registrations."

What happens if a member makes a typo in their address when registering, there is no double entry check.

Just testing to see if I can reply in this thread because yesterday I could reply in one thread but not another.

In any case, we need to be patient here. The main objective is to get the registration process working before dpreview goes off air so that as many people as possible that are interested in joining can be made aware of this site's existence.

Once the site is up and running, if bad actors are causing problems with spam or whatever it should be a simple process for the admin to delete all the members and ask everyone to join again when proper validations will be in place. That is not a big ask imo for anyone that is genuinely interested in being here.

Edit: I see this reply worked but a reply I tried to make in another thread 5 minutes ago got the "Unknown Error" message and didn't go through.
