Nice detail. You were very close to get this with only 100mm. My wife is in love with the European Robin even though she has never seen one in the flesh. They appear to be the quintessential garden bird.

they are quite tolerant of being close, lovely little birds, big characters

Awwwwwwww Just gorgeous!!!!!!!
Love how sharp it is, very impressed to see a shot like this with the 10-100 non PD, I really love that lens too, as an all rounder on my V3. You always hear that the 30-110 (another stellar N1 lens) is the sharper of the two at the full end, but this beautiful photo just shows what you can achieve with the 10-100
I have multiple copies of both the 10-100 non PD and the 30-110. To my eye they are both sharp and I don't worry over which may be sharper. The 30-110 is nice because it is smaller and lighter plus it makes a decent close up lens with a Nikon 52mm diopter (3T or 4T). But I use the 10-100 a lot more because of the flexibility of the coverage from wide to tele in a single lens - it is the one lens I always have mounted on a V2 or V3 when I'm out and want maximum coverage.
cheers, it's a great lens, sharp enough for the range it covers
That is superb. I have been tempted by this lens for a long time. Thanks for sharing this superb image
many thanks!
