Thought it might be time for a new thread...
Is this now the preferred thread for 'small things seen up close' ??
Is the good doctor's thread now deprecated?
So, where is it preferable to continue the macro topic, here, or in the original thread?
There was a bit of discussion quite a while back about whether the original was getting a bit long. Some agreed, some didn't.
Other than my feeling that it was a bit long, I don't care either way. Just that I think it better if we all go with the same one.
The previous discussions were about a different approach to the macro topic. This is about a specific continuation of the original thread. I think it's good to break it up from time to time.🙂
Hi everyone,
I think taking a break now and then isn't a bad idea. And later on, if there's more traffic, it might be interesting to open separate threads for different topics...
😮
Like a lot!
I voted to keep the old thread. But I don't understand why there should be two threads with the same general name in the MACRO category which per se already means small things close up. With all due respect, I don't understand why the MACRO category has either one.
As can be seen, I think the next level for macro threads should be classes. E.g. my 'Moths' ...
... if the poll had included "Stop both threads", I would have voted thus ...
I just felt that the thread had got a bit too long. All those weekly threads have multiple instances with the same name except the # and perhaps the date.
The thread was started as "Small things up close - work in progress". No-one cared about the title, we just posted there.
We had discussed about wildlife threads being weekly but there wasn't enough interest. Similarly I don't think there is enough traffic to split macro into sub-categories.
But anyone is free to start a thread on any genre they like. If others jump in that is great. If not it just disappears down the list - no harm done...
And if the consensus is to stick to the old thread, we can move our posts from this thread over to it.
This is not a new thread, it is and should be considered a continuation of the original one (#1).

Well said. That is it.
A new cycle of life.
