Jaws.
Not very small, but seen up close.😀
I was never brave enough to sample those. Word was they could be a pretty wild ride. I found their lesser cousins wild enough... 😵
A couple of beautiful specimens. And it's best to leave them where they are…
Many years ago, a colleague at work imagined that if they were fried well, their poison would be neutralized.
He picked several large, very appetizing ones and the whole family ate them (6 people). Immediately after the meal he said that they were very tasty.
After a few hours they all arrived at a hospital and two of them who only tasted them could be saved, with difficulty. The other 4 could not be saved.
So, could say that they are tasty, but deadly.

Lots of food: maybe he was expecting guests...
Nice!
We've had a few mild days here, and flowers and insects have increased exponentially...
Polyrhachis vermiculosa or Golden-tailed Spiny Ant
It was walking across the back of my hand so I shook it off onto the table. Then broke out my 45mm macro lens. There wasn't a lot of light so ss was low and was lucky to get this one where he must have briefly stopped walking - but his antenna is still moving... The ridges in the glass are perhaps 0.5mm spaced. The scratches are quite difficult to see with the naked eye.
Nice specimen, good shot.👍
Little beauty...
